General explainer · Site-specific conclusions require the actual tariff, contract and operating information.

Define the job first.

Increasing solar self-consumption, managing demand and providing backup are different objectives. A proposed battery needs a stated operating purpose and a design that supports it.

Look beyond nameplate capacity.

Usable energy, power output, efficiency, operating limits, degradation, warranty and integration influence the result. Backup also depends on the electrical configuration and the loads it is intended to support.

Keep assumptions visible.

Tariffs, consumption, generation, dispatch, installed cost and future operating conditions affect the forecast. A useful financial assessment shows which assumptions matter and how changed inputs affect the result.

Separate assessment from commitment.

Feasibility can support an investment, identify a better option or establish that the project is not justified. Supplier selection and installation are separate decisions with their own scope and responsibilities.
